In Loving Memory of Barbara Ann Usher Barrett

Barbara Ann Usher Barrett, born on March 2, 1946, in Covington, Georgia, to the late Fred and Carrie Mae Usher, was a radiant source of love and warmth for all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her journey began in the embrace of her faith as she joined Livingston Chapel Church, where she fostered relationships and drew strength from her community.

Barbara's commitment to her family and her work defined her life. After completing her education at RL Cousins School, she dedicated herself at Porterdale Mills and later, the Oxford Shirt Factory until 1974. May 1965 marked the arrival of her beloved daughter, Pamela, an event that brought endless joy to her life. Barbara then united in marriage with Clarence Barrett on March 1, 1969, and together they welcomed two more children, Tracy in February 1970 and Christopher in September 1974. Each child filled her heart with overwhelming love and purpose.

Known for her many talents, Barbara found immense joy in sewing, canning, and preparing delicious meals for loved ones. Her home was adorned with her beautiful gardens and floral arrangements, which echoed her creative spirit. With an eye for design and a unique sense of fashion, Barbara left an indelible mark on those around her.

Barbara was called home on April 26, 2025, leaving a profound void in the hearts of her cherished family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence, her dear daughter, Tracy, her parents, and her brothers, James Usher and Curtis White.

She is survived by her devoted children, Pamela Usher and Christopher (Jillian) Barrett, who carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Her memory will forever be treasured by her grandchildren—Toccara (Tawaitius), Ciji, Nekemia, Aneissa, Jailisha, JaMiah, Layla, Elisa, Carterious, and Chris—as well as her great-grandchildren, Ava, Niva, Rio, and Chloe. Barbara also leaves behind her loving sisters—Shirlene Hill, Josephine Usher, Bernice Hammonds, Jerome Mitchell, Sheryl (Ricky) Jackson, and Gwendolyn Mitchell—and her brothers, Archie Usher and Randy (Anita) Usher, along with numerous siblings-in-law, aunts, uncles, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Barbara's spirit will continue to shine brightly through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love. While she will be deeply missed, her cherished memories will forever reside in our hearts, reminding us of the beauty and warmth she brought into the world.
