Christine Porter was born on November 23, 1948, to the late Johnny and Ida Mae Porter. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Ms. Healide Faye Porter and Victoria Horton, brothers Willie James Porter and John Bob Robinson, and sisters Eula Mae Maddox, Lillie B. Watson, Lucille Porter Anderson, Alice Dean Porter, and Mildred Maddox.
Christine was educated in the Walton County School system. She was employed with The Cotton Mill and Chamber of Commerce in Monroe, Georgia. In 1978, she began employment with Leggett and Plant until she retired in 2011.
Christine had a passion for quilting and gardening. She loved working with her flowers and spending precious time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On January 17, 2023, Christine departed her earthly life as a beloved mother, granddaughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and dear friend. She leaves loving memories to be cherished with her daughter, Deveda (Devotius) Gibbs; son, Jonathan Trail Porter; grandchildren, Joshua L. (Katrina) McGuire, Diamond S. (Alvin) Jenkins, Kerianna M. Porter, Tavaris Gibbs, Kenny Gibbs, and Zyasia K. Sims; nine great-grandchildren, Trinity Harris, Tavaris V. Gibbs, Jayla McGuire, Jr., Drew Jenkins, and Keilani T. Gibbs; sister, Johnnie Mae Porter; brother-in-law, Lurie Maddox, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and caring neighbors.
