Obituary

In loving memory of Sarah "Ann" McGahee, whose gentle spirit and vibrant warmth touched the hearts of all who knew her. Born on February 10, 1943, in Social Circle, Georgia, Ann was the cherished daughter of Anderson and Sarah Lowe, who welcomed her into a world that would soon revel in her kindness and grace.

Ann's journey through life was brightened by the deep love she shared with her family, particularly with her devoted husband, Roger McGahee, now reunited in peace after his passing. On August 18, 2025, Ann crossed into the arms of her beloved ones, including her son, Cepeda McGahee, and her dear sisters, Jewel Strickland Knox and Rose Mary Lowe, leaving behind a legacy of love that will forever blossom in the hearts of those she left behind.

Her education in the heart of Social Circle laid the foundation for a life enriched by community, faith, and abundant passion. Ann became a dedicated member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, where her faith flourished alongside her strong ties to her community. For many years, she brought joy to countless patrons at the Blue Willow Inn, where her culinary talents delighted every guest. The aromas of her kitchen were not just meals, but celebrations of love and care that filled everyone’s heart.

Ann's greatest joys were found in the simple treasures of life: nurturing vibrant gardens that brought beauty to her surroundings, crafting delicious meals for loved ones, and sharing laughter and new experiences with friends at the Social Circle Senior Center.

She leaves behind a beautiful tapestry woven with cherished memories, her loving sons, Clifford (Shelia) Lowe and Barry Lowe, her beloved sisters, Eutrice “Judy” Lowe and Nance Gamble, and a legacy that includes eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Her life was further enriched by special friendships with Gracie Lightfoot, Lizzie Wright, Bertha Morgan, Charlotte Fredrick, Ollie James, and the dear members of the Social Circle Senior Citizens group, as well as many extended relatives and friends who will continue to carry her spirit forward.

Though Ann has departed from this world, her essence remains alive in the hearts she touched—the laughter shared, the flowers planted, and the love exchanged. As we remember her today, we celebrate a life beautifully lived, a soul that brightened our days, and a heart that will forever be missed but never forgotten.
